Dog Photography in Crested Butte | A Wildflower Adventure
As a dog photographer specializing in capturing the bond between people and their dogs on adventurous hikes in the Colorado Rockies, there's nothing quite like the magic of a sunrise on the trail in Crested Butte during the summer. Often referred to as the "Wildflower Capital of Colorado," Crested Butte truly comes alive in the summertime. The town, surrounded by rugged mountain landscapes, offers a plethora of hiking trails that are not only dog-friendly but also offer breathtaking views. Finding the perfect trail
When Steph reached out about scheduling a hiking adventure session with her 4 year old Aussie named Koda, we tossed around a few ideas and based on what she shared with me, Crested Butte fit the bill perfectly! The mountain town boasts an array of hiking trails that cater to various fitness levels, making it accessible to both seasoned hikers and beginners. However, one of the things that makes Crested Butte's summer landscape truly special is the wildflowers. I could immediately picture Steph and Koda hiking through meadows filled with waist-high wildflowers, their every step bursting with color.
Forests, wildflowers, and mountain vistas
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m no stranger to an alpine start. 😆 I find that early morning hikes offer a sense of solitude and tranquility that is often absent during the rest of the day. The picturesque trail we chose provided us with a varied and stunning landscape that featured the serene shade of forests, the colorful tapestry of wildflowers, dramatic mountain views, and several stream crossings. It was the perfect mix of adventure and beauty. And thanks to our early start we nearly had the entire trail to ourselves (on a weekend!), which translated into a serene and more relaxed experience for Steph and Koda.

“My experience with Allison from start to finish was amazing, she really went above and beyond. She was incredibly prompt with all of her communication starting from day one. She gave me a lot of beautiful locations to choose from, and once we decided on Crested Butte she did a ton of research on the local trails to find the ones that would be stunning to photograph. She helped ease the stress I had surrounding clothing choices and continually validated my choice in location. The day of the shoot was so seamless and fun.
My dog got along with Allison from the moment she met her, and Allison worked so well with her out on the trail. She frequently checked in with me throughout the shoot to make sure we were getting all the shots that I was hoping for. We spent roughly 5 hours together from start to finish, and it was such a joy getting to know her as a person as well, you can tell that she's so passionate about the work that she's doing! After the shoot she delivered amazing photos within her specified timeframe and the purchasing process was incredibly easy and straightforward. It really was an adventure that I am going to treasure forever!”

I feel like she really heard me and what I was hoping for, helped me find the location that fit my dog and I the best, and delivered more than I could've imagined.
