I have a confession to make: I love winter. I realize that’s practically heretical, but there it is. I’m a little sad to see it go.

At the time of our session this little guy was still without a name and going simply by PupPup (with an occasional “Mister” thrown in for good measure). I’m sure whatever his person decides on, it will sum up his snuggly sweet and daringly bold personality perfectly.

Our February. Notable highlights include an actual winter storm, Tilda (unbelievably) turning five and Ansel transforming right before our very eyes. Time flies.

It’s easy to get so wrapped up in shooting for clients that photographing the four-(and two-) legged beings that share my life is often put on the back burner. One of my goals for this year is to shoot more personal projects, one of which includes keeping the camera handy and documenting more of our everyday life. It’s the little things… and sometimes the big: On January 2nd we welcomed a little Border Collie named Ansel into our home.
This is what our January looked like.

I’m thinking you’ve discovered the joys of being herded by a Border? Cool dogs….
Our first one and he’s pretty amazing!
Love the photos. Ansel is a total heart-stealer! You’re so good to take all these pictures of him as a pup too. We were terrible, and only did one shoot with Ojai when he was tiny.
Thanks Ashely! I remember Ojai being quite the cutie himself.

You’re probably familiar with those gorgeous wedding albums that nearly every couple has. But what about our pets? I’ve long felt that they deserve a similar equivalent and have searched high and low for a high-end album to offer my clients.
So, finally. Finally! I’ve found an album to meet all of your needs: a fully customized cover featuring a favorite image from your session, layflat, double thick pages for uninterrupted viewing, and printing that produces vivid, saturated images. Each album is designed in house with an eye for a clean, modern layout and submitted for your review before printing.
This album was designed for Toby & Chamonix’s family featuring images from our pet photography session last fall. If you’d like your own elegant keepsake to showcase all of your images let’s talk.

We met in the park where they used to walk when Riley was just a young thing. Theirs is a relationship that is incredibly special and from the first instant it was clear just how much they adore each other.

OMG, he is so cute! Reminds me of Leonard, another alopecia hound. A beard and those baby blues…what’s not to love?
Isn’t he adorable? I love that he still has a beard.

A little bit city. A little bit country. French & Luna (along with their adoring humans) spent a brisk December morning traipsing around downtown Boulder before heading to the park for some more canine adventure.
